A leaking capactior within the power infrastructure at chi02 data center has been identified. Digital Realty (building owner) will be performing maintenance to replace the affected component.

Date: July 28, 2012

Start Time: 7:00 AM CDT (GMT-5)

End Time: 5:00 PM CDT (GMT-5)

Maintenance Scope: chi02

Location: chi02 - 350 E Cermak Rd

Customer Impact: Power maintenance.

Starting at 7:00 AM CDT on Saturday July 28 2012, building engineers will be working to replace the AC CAPs in the A-side of the 240 UPS system. In order to do this safely, the A-side UPS will be shutdown. This will be done by transferring the suite load to generator then open the main Utility breaker in the basement, which will stop the ATS from automatically transferring back to Utility after 30 minutes, engineering will then take the A-side UPS to Static Bypass; then to Maintenance Bypass. Once we are Maintenance Bypass DSA will shutdown UPS A and replace the leaking AC CAPs. Once the CAPs have been replaced, the UPS will be started up. Engineering will bring the suite out of Maintenance Bypass then bring the UPS out of Static Bypass; then the Main Utility breaker will be closed, the ATS timer will start and Utility power will be restored to the suite automatically 30 minutes later.

There is a low risk of power loss to systems that are only on the A-side of power in the chi02 datacenter during the switchover. There is also increased risk during this maintenence as the power on the A side will be running exclusively on generator power, without the UPS backups in place.
